CYCLE SYNCING

Learning how to honor our menstrual cycles and prioritize our health by aligning our daily lives with where we are in our cycle.

Making choices that acknowledge the four phases of our menstrual cycle

A woman's menstrual cycle can range between 21-35 days. For most women, the average cycle is around 28 days with menstruation (bleeding) lasting between 3-7 days. Tracking your menstrual cycles regularly can help you become familiar with what is normal for you.

BUT I'M ON BIRTH CONTROL. WHAT DO I DO?

BUT I DON'T HAVE A REGULAR CYCLE. I'M PREGNANT, MENOPAUSAL, IN PERIMENOPAUSE, OR HAVE SOME OTHER HEALTH CONDITION.

When we think of birth control we often think of the pill but birth control can take on many different forms. Using a form of birth control that disrupts our natural cycle comes with some major consequences to our health. For this reason, we believe it's important to consider some of the following:

-What other forms of birth control can I try that would not disrupt my natural cycle?

-What other sexual activities could I safely engage in that still prioritize our needs and desires that do not involve the risk of pregnancy?

-Do I have a support system or plan in place to embrace a pregnancy and child if I were to get pregnant?

-Is the risk worth the reward if the above answer is no?

As we move through different seasons of our lives we can still honor our feminine cyclical nature even without a menstrual cycle.

Some approaches to consider could be:

-Celebrating with the cycles of the lunar calendar.

This could look like honoring the different phases of the moon by creating times of the month to prioritize rest or activity, self-care, full moon and new moon gatherings, and ceremonies.

You can also host these gatherings with a small group of friends or join a community like CREA.
